The challenge

Why do most prototypes never ship?

Because the prototype is the easy part. Anyone can build a demo in a weekend. The hard part comes after: security, auth, payments, scaling, and code your team can actually take over. Most prototypes stall exactly there.

Problem 1Demo-ware everywhere
Quickly built apps that collapse the moment they meet real users, real data, and real volume.
Problem 2The rebuild tax
"Fast" prototypes that the engineering team throws away and rebuilds from scratch. You pay for the product twice.
Problem 3The complexity ceiling
Self-serve tools hit their limits as soon as the product gets genuinely demanding.
The solution

We start where the tools stop.

Every build starts on a tested foundation, is owned by one senior builder, and ships with a fixed scope and a fixed price.

Standardised foundations

Every build starts from our tested base stack. Security, auth, payments, and integrations are already built in.

Designer-builders, brief to product

One experienced person takes you from concept to deployed product. No handoffs, no translation loss.

Engineers for the genuinely hard parts

Specialised engineers take on real complexity: custom systems, integrations, scale.

Fixed scope, fixed price

You know the cost and the date before we start. No drift.

Process

How do we get from brief to live product?

In five steps: a scoping sprint that fixes scope, price, and timeline, then design, the build on our tested base stack, deployment with real users, and a clean rollout to your team. First working version in 2 to 3 weeks.

  1. Scoping sprint

Define the product, lock the scope, agree the fixed price and the timeline.

Why us

Why build with us?

No rebuild needed

Built to engineering standards and handed over clean. Your team keeps it, they do not replace it.

One builder, full ownership

Fewer handoffs, faster decisions, a tighter product.

From v1 to genuinely complex

The same model scales from the first version to systems self-serve tools cannot reach.

Not competing with your tools

We are the production layer they cannot reach: deployable, scalable, secure.

Common questions

What founders and teams ask us.

What does custom product development cost at Product Studio at CODE?

Most product development projects at Product Studio at CODE start around 10,000 EUR, and every engagement runs on a fixed price agreed before any work begins. The scoping sprint comes first: we define the product together, lock the scope, and put the price and the timeline in writing. From that point the number does not move, because the scope does not drift. The price covers the full arc, not just code: design of the key screens and user flows, the build on our tested base stack with security, auth, and payments already in place, deployment and stress testing, technical documentation, and the rollout to your team. There are no hourly surprises and no change-order games. If the scope genuinely changes mid-project, we re-scope it openly and agree a new fixed number before continuing. You always know what you pay and what you get.

How long does it take to get a first version live?

The first working version of your product is typically live in 2 to 3 weeks. That speed is possible because we never start from a blank page: every build begins on our tested base stack, where security, authentication, payments, and common integrations are already built and proven. The engagement opens with a scoping sprint and the design of the key screens and user journeys. Then a senior designer-builder takes the product from brief to deployment in one pair of hands, with specialised engineers pulled in for genuinely hard problems like custom systems, deep integrations, or scale. The version that ships after 2 to 3 weeks is not a demo: it is deployed, stress-tested, and in the hands of real users. Complex systems take longer, and we tell you exactly how much longer during scoping, in writing, together with the fixed price for the full build.

What happens at handover?

Handover means your team owns the product from day one. You get the deployed application, live and production-ready, plus a clean, documented codebase that any engineer can extend. The deployment setup, meaning environment, hosting, and integrations, is configured and documented. Technical documentation records the architecture and the standards behind it in writing. We onboard your team in a scheduled walkthrough with the people who built the product, so they are ready to keep building without us. If you would rather not take it in-house yet, the same engagement can continue as an embedded setup, with a senior engineer staying inside your team on a retainer or sprint basis. Either way there is no lock-in: the code lives in your repository, written to engineering standards, and the documentation is detailed enough that any engineering team can pick it up and move.
